Batu Caves Temple is located 13 kilometres north of Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. This temple is known by the name Batu Caves due to its proximity to the surrounding hills and caves, and its closeness to the Batu River, which lies behind this hill.

Among the attractions of this historical and religious site are the limestone Batu Caves, which were formed 400 million years ago. Batu Caves Temple was introduced in 1891 by a well-known Indian merchant in Malaysia to one of their religious leaders, and this is why we see the large statue there today. In 1920, 286 steps were built on the slope of this hill to make it easier for tourists to reach the caves of this temple, which further increased the area’s appeal. The beautiful and stunning nature of this religious site attracts every tourist who loves nature and history.

Merdeka Square, or Independence Square, is one of the most important squares in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. One of the most striking sights that surprises every visitor is that photographs of all of Malaysia’s prime ministers from the very beginning up to the present are displayed in one of its corners. The beautiful Sultan Abdul Samad Building, which is considered one of the symbols of Kuala Lumpur, forms an important and attractive part of this square that no tourist should miss during their trip to Malaysia.

In 1957, Malaysia’s independence was officially declared, the flag of Great Britain was lowered, and the Malaysian flag replaced the British one — and this is the reason the square bears its name. The buildings and fountains of this square are British-era landmarks that add to the beauty of the place. Another attraction here is the sight of the Malaysian flagpole standing at a height of 1,000 metres, which is considered the tallest flagpole in the world.
